New Pincushion for Retreat

I’m leaving tomorrow for a quilting retreat!!! I’m sooooo excited! I’ve had a very busy work week and even my evenings have been filled with meetings and things to do with my kids, so I am not as prepared as I would like to be…but I don’t care, I’m just going to drop everything, stop working tomorrow, stop worrying about the housework, bring as much as I can and just sew!

In preparation I made myself a new pincushion!

I saw a pic online a long time ago, saved it to my computer and just drafted a pattern for him by looking at that pic. It turned out pretty close to the real deal, I think. (here’s a link to where I found it, and they’re for sale cheap there too!) I filled him with walnut litter and he’s working great for pins. My whole family wants their own hedgehogs, even though they don’t use pincushions. Brennan already got one…a clowny blue and yellow stripe body with a purple face, he picked the colors! Maybe I’ll be making more at the retreat….but maybe not!
